**Aurangzeb Shares Updates on Salary, Pension Hike in FY2025-26 Budget**
Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb made a significant announcement regarding salary and pension increases in the upcoming FY2025-26 budget.
In a written response to the National Assembly, Aurangzeb stated that there is currently no proposal to increase salaries or pensions for government employees in the FY2025-26 budget.
He clarified that no revisions to pay scales or allowances are being considered. However, the government is reviewing the increase in hiring and ceiling limits for employees.
The Finance Minister emphasized that the government’s primary focus is on controlling expenditures and stabilizing the economy.
Last year, the Ministry of Finance announced three key amendments to the pension rules.
Under the revised rules, family pensions will be limited to 10 years. In the event of a pensioner’s death, only legal heirs will be eligible to receive the pension.
The notification also specified that the spouse of a deceased pensioner will receive a pension for 10 years after the pensioner’s death. If a deceased pensioner’s child is disabled, they will be eligible for a lifetime pension.
Additionally, the ministry has implemented measures to discourage early retirement, including a 3% deduction in pension for those who opt for early retirement. This deduction will apply to the remaining service period up to the age of 60.
