**Al-Khawarij Operative Who Flashed Message at Mazar-e-Quaid Arrested**
The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) Intelligence Wing in Karachi has arrested a key operative of the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) Al-Khawarij, who was responsible for flashing a threatening message at Mazar-e-Quaid. The arrest followed an extensive surveillance operation that tracked the suspect, Khalil-ur-Rehman, across 34 different locations in the city.
Investigations revealed that Khalil-ur-Rehman had entered Karachi under TTP directives and had taken a job as a security guard to facilitate his assigned tasks. Surveillance footage showed him moving through various areas, including Khadda Market, the Saudi Consulate, Empress Market, and finally Mazar-e-Quaid.
He entered the mausoleum at 3:31 PM, recorded the threatening video at 4:10 PM, and exited at 4:40 PM. He then traveled to Saddar Parking Plaza, boarded a bus with an accomplice, and returned to Defence.
According to CTD DSP Raja Umar Khattab, the arrested individual was associated with the Noor Wali Ullah group and recorded the video on instructions from TTP commander Misbah. Khalil-ur-Rehman had received terrorist training in Afghanistan before relocating to Karachi, where he worked at several hotels.
He later joined a private security firm and was deployed as a guard at a bungalow in Defence. During the night, he also engaged in TTP-related wall chalking in different areas.
The circulation of his video on social media prompted swift action from security forces, leading to his arrest. Authorities are continuing to investigate the extent of his network and activities.
