A massive fire ripped through a building near Karachi’s Baloch Colony Bridge on Friday, trapping at least 10 people, according to rescue authorities.

Rescue teams swiftly arrived at the scene after receiving reports of the blaze. Eight fire brigade vehicles are currently working to bring the fire under control.

Reports suggest that over ten individuals are trapped on the rooftop of the building. The fire, which originated on the second floor, has since spread to the basement, intensifying concerns about the extent of the damage.

Rescue personnel are focused on evacuating those stranded, while firefighters continue their efforts to extinguish the flames.

The cause of the fire is yet to be determined.

Last year, a similar incident occurred when a massive fire broke out at a furniture market near Kamran Chowrangi, Gulistan-e-Johar, reducing furniture worth millions of rupees to ashes.

That fire started in nearby bushes and spread rapidly, engulfing several shops. Seven fire brigade vehicles were deployed to control the blaze, which destroyed over 40% of the furniture in the market, affecting more than 80 shops. The incident caused shopkeepers to rush to save their goods.
