**Police Thwart Another Terrorist Attack on Punjab-KP Border**
A recent terrorist attack on the Punjab-Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) border was successfully averted by Punjab Police.
The incident, the fifth of its kind, took place at the Lakhani check post in the Wahwa Police Station area. In the early hours of the morning, 10-12 terrorists launched a coordinated assault from three directions.
Armed with rocket launchers and other heavy weapons, the terrorists were quickly identified using thermal imaging cameras. A two-hour-long gun battle ensued, with police effectively retaliating and forcing the attackers to retreat. The terrorists reportedly sustained significant losses before escaping.
The operation was under the command of RPO Dera Ghazi Khan Captain (retd) Sajjad Hasan Khan, with DPO Dera Ghazi Khan Syed Ali leading the QRF teams that swiftly responded to the scene.
IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar praised the police team’s courage, emphasizing that terrorists will not be permitted to carry out their malicious plans.
This thwarted attack follows a previous attempt on the same Lakhani border post. The earlier attack was repelled making it second such act.
