Karachi Man Accused of Murder, $400K/Month Crypto Money Laundering Scheme

## Armaghan Booked in Money Laundering Case

**KARACHI:** Armaghan, the prime suspect in the Mustafa Amir murder case, has been booked by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Anti-Money Laundering Circle for his involvement in hawala/hundi and forgery, according to ARY News reports.

The FIA alleges that Armaghan was involved in a significant forgery operation, generating an estimated $300,000 to $400,000 per month. He purportedly used cryptocurrency to launder these funds and purchased several luxury vehicles with the proceeds.

According to the FIR, investigations revealed that Armaghan ran a call center that defrauded American citizens. The FIR further states that the suspect opened bank accounts under his employees’ names to aid in the fraudulent activities.

The FIR details that Armaghan’s team comprised 25 individuals, each allegedly scamming at least five people daily. Additionally, he reportedly established a company in the United States, with his father’s assistance, to facilitate the hawala/hundi business.

Authorities have recovered three luxury cars, valued at millions of rupees, from Armaghan’s possession. It is also reported that he had sold an additional five cars.

In a court appearance on Saturday, Armaghan refused to confess to the crime, leading the court to dismiss a petition for a confessional statement under section 164. The court cited the accused’s mental condition as the reason for not recording the statement.

Initially, Armaghan stated he killed Mustafa Amir due to a personal dispute, claiming it was not pre-planned but a “sudden act.” The court informed him that he would be jailed regardless of a confession.

Subsequently, Armaghan denied wanting to confess, alleging that the police had used “black magic” on him, causing him physical pain. He then claimed he didn’t kill Mustafa Amir, stating he only left him in the car to set the front portion on fire. Later changed his statement again, and said that he didn’t directly kill the victim. “It was in his fate to die, I had a little part in it,”

Mustafa Amir was kidnapped and allegedly murdered by his friends in Karachi’s Defence Housing Authority (DHA) on January 6th. Police report that his friends placed his body in the trunk of his car and set it ablaze in the Hub area of Balochistan.

The case has drawn considerable public interest, with recent developments focusing on Armaghan. Investigators have disclosed details about his business activities, digital currency accounts, and other related matters.
