PTI Leadership Debates Grand Opposition Alliance Head: Chairman & President Roles Proposed

**PTI Leaders Deliberate on Leadership Structure for Grand Opposition Alliance**

ISLAMABAD: Sources report that the PTI leadership is actively discussing who will head the anticipated grand alliance of opposition parties.

Following input from the JUI and other opposition groups, leaders are reportedly converging on a compromise solution for the alliance’s leadership, sources said.

Some within Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) have proposed a dual-leadership structure, with a chairman and a president at the helm of the opposition alliance. Sources indicate that the suggestion is to select one leader from Mehmood Achakzai and Fazlur Rehman to serve as chairman, with the other assuming the presidency.

This proposal is slated for further discussion with the PTI’s founder and other opposition parties, according to sources.

The formalization of the grand opposition alliance is expected to occur after Eid, contingent upon approval from the PTI’s founder and other participating parties, sources shared.

Maulana Fazlur Rehman previously stated that the opposition parties would determine their course of action regarding anti-government protests after Eid.

He noted a reduction in tensions with the PTI, adding that “the PTI should take notice if someone of the party issuing statements against me”.

Despite ongoing dialogue, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) continue to navigate their differences while striving to strengthen the opposition.

The JUI had raised concerns about PTI’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister, Ali Amin Gandapur.

While both parties have kept communication channels open in recent months, a formal working relationship has yet to be finalized.
