**Cash Van Robbery: Rs 35 Million Recovered, Driver Arrested**

**PESHAWAR:** In a remarkable display of efficiency, the Peshawar Police cracked a daring cash van robbery case in just eight hours, arresting the driver, identified as the mastermind, and recovering Rs. 34.9 million.
On Monday, armed robbers targeted a Bank of Punjab cash van in the Hashtnagri area of Peshawar, making off with over 30 million rupees.
Responding swiftly to the incident, police apprehended the prime suspect, Fazal Wahab, who was also the driver of the van.
According to SSP Operations, Masood Bangash, Wahab had meticulously planned the entire heist, cleverly hiding the stolen money within the vehicle itself.
Authorities utilized CCTV footage and geofencing technology to track down the culprits.
The cash van, responsible for transporting large sums to various districts, was intercepted by the robbers. However, the police immediately launched an investigation, leveraging advanced technology and forensic analysis.
“We have arrested the mastermind driver, Fazal Wahab, and recovered Rs. 3.49 crore,” confirmed SSP Operations, Masood Bangash. He further revealed, “The investigation revealed that the driver had previously been deemed untrustworthy and had been fired from his job at another location.”
The police department has lauded the team’s rapid response and successful resolution of the case.
