Saim Ayub PSL 10 Update: Injury Status & Return Date Decision Imminent

**Major Update on Saim Ayub Ahead of PSL 10**

Saim Ayub’s highly anticipated return for Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 10 is hanging in the balance. The promising young batsman, who suffered an ankle injury during the Cape Town Test against South Africa earlier this year, is still in recovery and awaiting medical clearance.

Reports indicate that Ayub’s participation in PSL 10, scheduled to begin on April 11, will depend on a crucial medical evaluation set for Tuesday.

The 22-year-old is undergoing intensive rehabilitation, working closely with Pakistan cricket trainer Hanif Malik and receiving guidance from British specialists. The PCB is prioritizing a safe and complete recovery for the opener. While initially expected to be sidelined for six weeks, Ayub missed the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 and Pakistan’s white-ball tour of New Zealand as a precautionary measure, his return for PSL been longer.

His injury occurred during a Test match when he twisted his ankle while attempting to save a boundary.

The PCB has shared glimpses of Ayub’s rehabilitation progress on its official Instagram, showcasing his gradual return to match fitness. The upcoming medical assessment will be pivotal for both Ayub’s career and for Peshawar Zalmi, where he holds a Platinum category spot alongside Babar Azam.

Franchise officials and national selectors are keenly awaiting Tuesday’s medical report. A decision on Ayub’s inclusion in the PSL squad is expected shortly thereafter, potentially paving the way for the talented opener’s comeback and his bid to regain his place in the international arena.
