This recent tragedy follows a similar outbreak in Shikarpur, where four children, including an infant, died from measles. This brought the total death toll in Shikarpur to 12 within the past two months.
The deceased children in Shikarpur were identified as nine-month-old Uzma Khoso, three-year-old Nasser, Waqar, and Shahida. The high number of fatalities is believed to be linked to a lack of vaccination among children. Measles there has become a “fatal epidemic”.
