Daanish University: PM Shehbaz Vows Top-Tier Education, Applied Science Hub in Islamabad

**Daanish University will be at par with top varsities: PM Shehbaz**

Islamabad is set to be home to a new world-class institution, Daanish University, which Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif envisions as a beacon of high-quality education and applied science research. Speaking at a ceremony at the university’s future site in Sector H-16, the PM highlighted the 100-acre plot dedicated to this ambitious project.

While acknowledging existing educational institutions, the Prime Minister emphasized the need for a dedicated center focused on modern applied sciences research and development. He expressed that the establishment of Daanish University is a “moment of joy for everyone.”

The university’s Board of Governors has been finalized, bringing together brilliant minds to guide its development. With its plans for constructed with a red facade campus and plans for comprehensive facilities. PM Shehbaz drew parallels with the successful Daanish schools in Punjab, where countless orphans and underprivileged students receive free, high-quality education, complete with smart boards, IT labs, and dormitories.

He praised the dedicated teachers who have committed to serving in these schools, often leaving behind higher-paying jobs. The Prime Minister stressed that without such opportunities, the immense talent in these areas might have been lost.

Funding for Daanish University will come from the 190 million pounds. PM Shehbaz express the gratitude to CJP Qazi Faez Isa and Yahya Afridi.

Minister for Federal Education Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui echoed the PM’s vision, emphasizing the importance of embracing modern science and technology. He promised a commitment to spreading education and wisdom, with Daanish University serving as a model for other provinces.

The first phase of the university is expected to be completed by August 14, 2026. It will operate autonomously, free from government interference, similar to the PKLI healthcare institution. Admissions will be strictly merit-based, welcoming students from all over the country. An initial Rs 10 billion government-funded trust will kickstart the university, aiming for eventual self-sustainability by leveraging fees from affluent students to support those from less privileged backgrounds.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar, along with other ministers, parliamentarians, experts, and authorities, attended the event, demonstrating a strong show of support for this transformative project.
