IHC Grants PTI Leaders Access to Imran Khan, Twice Weekly

**Islamabad High Court Greenlights PTI Leaders’ Visits with Party Founder**

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has granted permission for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders to meet with the party’s founder, Imran Khan, every Tuesday and Thursday.

A larger bench, led by IHC Acting Chief Justice Sardar Muhammad Sarfraz Dogar, also imposed the condition that no media conversations can happen after.

The bench, which also included Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir and Justice Azam Khan, heard over 20 petitions from PTI leaders requesting permission to meet Imran Khan.

The court’s order stipulates that individuals meeting the PTI founder are prohibited from engaging with the media. Furthermore, only individuals nominated by Imran Khan’s coordinator, Salman Akram Raja, will be granted access.

Meanwhile, in response to a petition requesting a meeting between Imran Khan and his children, the court advised PTI to take the matter to the trial court.

PTI leaders, including Junaid Akbar, Sher Ali Arbab, Rauf Hassan, and Amjad Ali, among others, filed similar petitions through their lawyer.

According to the petitions, PTI leaders were previously denied permission to meet with the party founder. The petitioners emphasized the importance of these meetings for the party’s affairs and requested the court to grant them access.

Previously, the PTI announced a boycott of the Parliamentary Committee on National Security session due to being denied access to Imran Khan.

PTI leader Salman Akram Raja, in a press conference, called for a grand dialogue to develop a national strategy against terrorism and maintain law and order.

Salman Akram Raja also called for the release of the PTI founder on parole to facilitate his participation in the process.

Party leader Shibli Faraz stated that because the party leaders have not been able talk with the founder, the PTI decided not attend meeting. Omar Ayub added that denying access and consultation with the party founder was an injustice.

Veteran politician Mehmood Achakzai also supported the call for a national jirga, emphasizing the inclusion of the PTI founder.
