iPhone 17 Ultra: Apple May Replace Pro Max With This New Model

## Apple May Also Introduce an Ultra Phone This Year

Apple is, once again, rumored to be cooking up an “iPhone 17 Ultra,” possibly for release later this year. If this sounds a bit like déjà vu, it’s because similar whispers circulated before the iPhone 15 and iPhone 16 launches. Previously, speculation centered on whether the “Ultra” would replace the Pro Max or become a new, even higher-tier model.

Now, the same idea is back in the headlines.

## Ultra Could Replace Pro Max

A recent post on the *Naver blog* suggests that Apple might ditch the iPhone 17 Pro Max in favor of a new iPhone 17 Ultra. This claim stems from supply chain analysis, hinting at significant hardware changes that would set this model apart.

One potential change is a smaller Dynamic Island. Interestingly, the reported number of display parts ordered isn’t sufficient to support both a Pro *and* an Ultra model, strongly suggesting the Ultra would completely replace the Pro Max.

## Exclusive Features

The report also claims the iPhone 17 Ultra will boast exclusive features not found in other iPhones. It might be the only model to feature a vapor chamber cooling system, preventing overheating. It’s also expected to pack a larger battery than the iPhone 16 Pro Max, resulting in a slightly thicker device.

While this might seem like a dramatic shift, Apple already uses the “Ultra” branding on other products, like the Apple Watch Ultra and the M3 Ultra chip. Introducing an iPhone Ultra with premium features would provide a clear justification for a price increase, potentially boosting profit margins.

## Too Early to Be Certain

Naturally, it’s still very early days, and Apple hasn’t confirmed anything. These are reports based on supply chain insights. However, it’s definitely something to keep an eye on as we get closer to the expected launch.
