Jazz CEO Aamir Ibrahim Awarded Hilal-e-Imtiaz for Digital & Financial Inclusion in Pakistan

Aamir Hafeez Ibrahim, CEO of Jazz and Chairman of Mobilink Bank, has been awarded the prestigious Hilal-e-Imtiaz by the President of Pakistan. This high civilian honor recognizes his significant contributions to the nation’s digital and financial landscape.

The award celebrates Ibrahim’s visionary leadership in driving digital inclusion, financial empowerment, and national resilience. Under his stewardship, Jazz has transformed from a telecommunications provider into Pakistan’s leading digital operator, serving over 100 million people and broadening access to mobile broadband nationwide.

Ibrahim has been a champion of financial inclusion through Mobilink Bank and JazzCash, Pakistan’s leading digital wallet with over 48 million registered users. These platforms provide crucial tools and access for women, youth, and small and medium enterprises (SMEs), enabling their participation in the modern economy. By digitizing transactions and facilitating entry into the formal financial system, these initiatives are driving Pakistan towards a cashless, digitally empowered future.

Beyond expanding access, Ibrahim has also focused on bridging the industry-academia gap in Pakistan, equipping future generations with the necessary digital skills for sustainable economic participation.

Upon receiving the award, Ibrahim stated, “Receiving this honor on Pakistan Day fills my heart with immense pride. It is a recognition of the role that digital technology and financial inclusion can play in enabling the people of Pakistan—regardless of where they live or who they are. This is the path to progress: a connected, cashless, and inclusive Pakistan where every citizen has the opportunity to thrive. I am humbled to be part of this journey, and more committed than ever to serve our nation’s future.”

The Hilal-e-Imtiaz awarded to Aamir Hafeez Ibrahim signifies not only individual achievement but also the collective mission of Jazz and Mobilink Bank: to enhance the lives and livelihoods of Pakistanis by making digital and financial services accessible, inclusive, and impactful.

This recognition highlights the power of purpose-driven leadership aligned with national progress as Pakistan moves towards a digital future.
