The Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) is actively working to resume flight operations at Parachinar Airport, signaling a potential boost for connectivity in the region.

A joint team from the PAA and Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) recently conducted an on-site assessment of the airport. This visit focused on evaluating the feasibility of restarting both commercial and relief flights.

The Joint Board of Officers meticulously reviewed the airport’s infrastructure, examined technical aspects, and assessed the available facilities.

Under the direction of the Ministry of Defence, an eight-member committee has been established to spearhead the revival initiative. This committee has already undertaken a feasibility study to determine the necessary steps for restoring air connectivity to Parachinar.

The aim is to fully operationalize the airport and once again connect the region by air.
