**No Change in Government’s Policy on Solar Energy, Says PM Shehbaz**

**ISLAMABAD:** Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, on Sunday, confirmed that there would be no changes to the government’s policy and priorities concerning solar energy. He instructed authorities to address any public confusion regarding the solarization policy by providing clear facts and figures.

The Prime Minister chaired a review meeting on Power Division matters, where he directed the swift resolution of all legal and procedural requirements for the liquidation of generation companies. He also emphasized accelerating the privatization of power distribution companies, as stated in a press release from the PM Office.

PM Shehbaz announced that a package aimed at lowering electricity tariffs is under development and will be unveiled soon, offering further relief to the public on electricity prices.

He further directed the Power Division, Water Resources Division, and Petroleum Division to enhance their coordination to develop a comprehensive energy sector strategy.

The meeting saw the attendance of Federal Minister for Power Division Sardar Awais Leghari, Advisor to PM Dr. Taqeer Shah, and other senior government officials. Federal Minister for Economic Affairs Ahad Khan Cheema and Advisor to PM Muhammad Ali participated via video link.
